INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS FOR STEERING KNUCKLE RISERS

(1) JACK UP THE CAR AND SUPPORT WITH JACK STANDS.

(2) REMOVE FRONT WHEELS.

(3) REMOVE THE TWO BOLTS HOLDING THE STEERING KNUCKLE TO THE STRUT AND SEPARATE THE STRUT AND KNUCKLE.

(4) FOR PROPER INSTALLATION IT IS NECESSARY TO INSPECT THE BOTTOM BORE ON THE STRUT TO BE SURE THERE IS NO WELDING SPLATTER PRESENT.  IF THERE IS, USE A CARTRIDGE ROLL TO CLEAN UP THIS BORE UNTIL THE KNUCKLE RISER WILL GO INTO IT.

(5) CLEAN ALL THE MOUNTING SURFACES.

(6)  PLACE THE KNUCKLE RISER ON THE STEERING ARM  AND RAISE THEM UNTIL THEY CONTACT THE STRUT.  LINE UP THE PIECES. INSTALL THE PROVIDED BOLTS USING THE OLD LOCK WASHERS.  BE SURE TO START THE BOLTS BY HAND AND THAT THEY GO IN SEVERAL TURNS BEFORE USING A WRENCH TO FINISH TIGHTENING THEM.

(7) CHECK TO BE SURE THERE IS NO INTERFERENCE BETWEEN THE ROTOR AND CONTROL ARM WITH THE WHEELS TURNED AS WELL AS STRAIGHT.

(8) REINSTALL THE WHEEL AND LOWER THE CAR.  CHECK FOR INTERFERENCE BETWEEN THE WHEEL AND BALL JOINT.  HAVE THE CAR ALIGNED.

(9) AFTER DRIVING THE CAR FOR A WHILE, CHECK TO BE SURE THE BOLTS ARE STILL TIGHT.
